A new Stablemate for 714

Well some good news we are now the Custodians of D6700!

After working with the NRM for the last few months the loan agreement was signed on the 11th February which saw D6700 loaned to us initially for a 5 year period. This is a real honour for us and we look forward to working with the NRM to preserve this icon

The loco is in working order and will go to our Industry Partner Loram UK for some attention to it's bodywork before moving to the GCR, it will enter service at the Spring Diesel Gala.

Early weekend update

This week, 37714 had the traction motors disconnected, the brake pipes and AWS disconnected and the sanders removed, in preparation for the trip on Thursday to Loram to replace No. 2 traction motor. S

 
 
 
Saturday Update!

Today saw the final push to get 714 back together, First job saw all the relays and contactors get a good clean and spray of magic electrical stuff apparently. The old oil and filters removed and new
