So in post Storm Goretti sunshine all be it a bit fresh, a good sized working party of 9 met to start the B exam and remove the oil cooler for overhaul.
The B exam bits covered were the electrical machines - exhausters and compressors, and the outside bits on the bogies.
No issues were found and everything was in good condition from the trip to Loram UK earlier this year.
The oil cooler resisted a little, but with some skilled forklift driving, a few taps and a lot of sling altering out she came!
This is now on a pallet ready to go away next week for overhaul.
The new oil is ready, the water pumps ready once the oil cooler is back everything will be refitted.
In 9 weeks time, 37714 is off to Loram UK for us to change the no. 2 traction motor for the overhauled one, so by the start of the season, she will be fully fit!
Whilst we wait, 6700 will be the focus to complete its B exam and brake block change ready for this years running.
Thankyou for your continued support as always!
